From iPone
The pope of the catholic church says that the only way christians can engage in inter-religous dialogue is if it is assumed by all that christianity is the superior religion.
Truly an example of unfounded arrogance and self agrandisement. The same kind of attitude by that religion that has committed countless atrocities throughout the ages.
The catholic religion as headed by this pope disqualifies itself as a world religion suitable for the modern ages.
What is called for in this age is a religion that is willing to address all the problems that face human kind with humility and in cooperation with all people regardless of faith. And thanks to this pope the catholic church disqualifies itself.

Nichiren Shu members join community walk for the homeless
On Saturday, November 22, 2008, Myosho-ji temple members joined with about 700 others from the community to walk for the homeless. The three mile walk was the fourth annual walk held to increas community awareness of the conditions that homeless people live in. Also the event was a fund raiser for community services to provide support for those who are homeless.
Currently in Mecklenburg county it is estimated that there are 5000 homeless individuals at any one time. There are many causes for homelessness, so solutions required to help with and to solve homelessness are equally as varied. There is not really a stereotypical homeless person.

Raising a little puppy is a real challenge. This isn’t the first one I have raised but it has been a long time.
In between monitoring Otera, keeping up with poop and pee, I have been doing some baking.
Saturday I cooked up one of the pumpkins that was donated to the temple. Then I baked up some pumpkin bread. I served it up to the Sangha members after service.
Then tonight I baked up some apples. I may put them over some ice cream or I’ll eat them plain.

Picked up doggy from Humane Society yesterday. Decided to name it Otera Inu which is Japanese for Temple Dog.
I have now in the course of my life adopted 2 dogs from the Hawaii Humane Society and 2 from Charllotte.
Having a mug of hot chocolate before bed.

Finished work and now sitting in the waiting room of the spine doctor. Not sure what can be done but it would nice if the level of pain could be reduced, even just a little. However I do not want to take a lot of medicine and definately don’t want surgery. I guess I am not leaving them many options.
The weather today is very nice with the temperature probably in the 70’s.

Sitting in the kitchen, the warmest part of the temple. In order to save money I only run the heater when there is going to be a service, which there will be later today. Still this is warmer because I have been boiling water for the thermos for tea for folks. I myself am having a large cup of really strong green tea.
One of the members, whose mother lives in Shizuoka Japan gave me a bag of some really good green tea. Very nice!
Later in the day:
We had a good service today with a good turn out. Bobby, a Vietnamese guy, who had come by the temple several months ago stopped by this morning and donated a Japanese maple for us to plant in the front. That was very kind.
